Plan and book your visit to The Podium and read about ticket costs and conditions here. Visiting The Podium requires you to book in advance. Due to strictly limited capacity, you are asked to reserve a time slot. This allows a visit of up to 45 minutes. Please stick to your time slot and follow the directions of staff members to ensure safety and a good visitor flow. During events and (guest) programming, a reduced number of time slots may be available.

Tuesday – Sunday: 10am – 5pm
Thursday: 10am – 9pm

Entrance fees

For a visit to The Podium between 1 July and 17 August a one-time entrance fee of €3 per person applies.

During Rotterdam Architecture Month (RA Month) in June, The Podium and the main RA Month exhibition in Het Nieuwe Instituut’s Gallery 0 can be visited free of charge. Please note that although entrance is free, you still need to reserve a timeslot.

After June, Het Podium is also free to visit:

  • On Sundays
  • On Thursdays from 5pm – 9pm (Free Thursday Night)
  • For children and young people under 18
  • For Members of Het Nieuwe Instituut
  • For Rotterdampas and Museumkaart holders (show your Rotterdampas or Museumkaart at the front desk)
  • For repeat visits (book a time slot and show the pink wristband you received during your previous visit at the front desk).

Not able to make it to your reserved time slot and you want to cancel it? Please send an e-mail to info@hetnieuweinstituut.nl with your name and the e-mail address you used to order the ticket. We will then cancel the order and, if applicable, refund the payment.

For a safe, pleasant visit

The Podium is accessible to everyone. There is a lift for visitors with a (functional) disability. Children under the age of 15 may only visit The Podium if accompanied by an adult. Every child on The Podium must be accompanied by at least one adult.

After your visit to The Podium or while waiting for your time slot, you can relax on the terrace of Het Nieuwe Café, or browse the wide range of books on architecture, urban planning, landscape and design at NAi Booksellers in the foyer of Het Nieuwe Instituut.

Weather conditions

The Podium can be visited in conditions up to and including force five winds. Even though it is summer, we advise you to check the weather forecast before your visit and to consult our website if in doubt. We will report there if The Podium has to close unexpectedly. You will then get a refund and can book another time slot. Any performances or other programme elements will be moved indoors.
